Week 2

Okay so it’s time for catch up! Here is an overview of whats been going on since the second week I have been here. Some of what I am going to write is how I wrote things in my lecture notes.
01/16/12 - 01/20/12
Relationships
This week we had lectures on Relationships. We also had our first outreach!
The speaker challenged us to “instead of KNOWING about God you need to KNOW God!”
We learned that most of the problems in the world come from poor and broken relationships. To many lonely people with relationships in the world.
Good Relationships- A little bit of Heaven on earth
Bad Relationships- A little bit of Hell on earth

Parents
Family should be a loving team! Supporting, praying, having fun, laughing, crying together. The Devil want’s to destroy this make the family like a bunch of little islands each doing their own thing.
How to Honor Your Parents
  1. Speak well in and out of their presents
  2. Seek out their counsel and advice
  3. Open up to them about what you are thinking and going through
  4. Seek opportunities at home to help around the house
  5. Demonstrate love in an appropriate way
  6. Visit regularly, phone letter
  7. Pray
Friendship
God wants us to have friendships. He also wants to be are friend- philio
You can be totally open and honest with God cause he’s your friend. You can never catch him on a bad day!
Ingredients Of A Good Friendship
  1. Love - Most rugged
  2. Trust - Most fragile
  3. Honor & Respect - Most neglected
  4. Knowledge & Understanding - Takes longest
To build relationships some people need to talk others need to listen!
God gave us two ears and one mouth.
Guy Girl
Singleness is a wonderful place to be but with a good group of friends.
People who PRAY together STAY together!
The analogy on being equally yoked and how it’s easier to pull someone off the table than on was a really good way to explain it. Also before you go out with someone or get in a serious relationship you should  get good counsel. I thought that “love is blind but the neighbors ain’t” was a really funny quote.
NEED COMMITMENT! Have the mind set that marriage is FOR LIFE!!!!
Don’t have to have the emotion of love to still be committed in love.
Outreach
On Thursday we had our first outreach. We sat and prayed to see where the Lord wanted us to go then we followed where we thought he was leading. It was a great start to feeling more comfortable with sharing Jesus with others.
Summery
I LOVED this week! Very informative and the speaker was GREAT! You could really see the Holy Spirit in him!
How did the relationships week relate to me...
Relationships are something I absolutely LOVE!!!!! I love spending time with people getting to hear their stories and just hanging out! I have realized though that I need to make sure that I make my relationship with Christ my top priority and all the time I love spending building relationships with others will fall into place after that!
The Memory Verse
Matthew 22:37-39
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Other Things This Week
